Will the TimesTablesTeacher be suitable for my child?
Yes, the program is suitable for any children from the age of 5 and upwards. The interface was specially designed to be as simple and intuitive as possible, and your child requires no computer skills apart from how to use a mouse. The TimesTablesTeacher is valuable for overall revision of TimesTables (using the Mixed Tables option), or learning and testing a specific TimesTable (using the Single Tables option).
Will the TimesTablesTeacher run on my computer?
Yes, if your computer, laptop or netbook is running any version of Microsoft Windows®, and has a mouse or touchpad. You will also need a soundcard to take advantage of the spoken tables, and internet access if you wish to access the TimesTablesTeacher website and Help pages. Devices such as tablet PCs or Macintosh computers may also be able to run the program, once you ensure that they are correctly configured.
Can I install the program on more than one computer?
Yes, the single-user licence you receive when you purchase the program entitles you to install it on any computer in your home, provided it belongs to a permanent resident in your household. For example, if you have more than one child, the Times Table Teacher may be installed on each of their computers. For all other cases, a multi-user licence must be purchased by contacting us directly.
The Setup program asks me for a password. What should I enter here?
After you purchase the TimesTablesTeacher, your registration password for the program will be sent to you by email. This password must be entered any time you install the program.
Can I easily uninstall the program?
Yes, if you click UninstallTimesTablesTeacher in your Start Menu, this will uninstall the program automatically.
We can't find the ladybird icon on the Desktop. How do I start the program?
You could find the program item in the Start Menu and create a shortcut to the desktop. If the item is not in the Start Menu, you could use your My Computer to find the application file in the Program Files folder. You can then create a shortcut to the Desktop and Start Menu. Alternatively, you may just prefer to run the Setup program again to restore the original settings.
Do I ever need to use the keyboard when I use this program?
No, the program is designed to be operated completely by the mouse (or touchpad).
Why can't I hear the voice, even though the option shows 'On'?
The sound settings on the computer may need to be adjusted. Check the main volume control to see if it has been muted. If necessary, check whether you get sound from any other programs; if not, you need to ensure that your soundcard is configured correctly, and has the required drivers installed.
How can I make the voice louder or softer?
You will need to adjust the main volume control on your computer. You may have keys for this function on your keyboard. Otherwise, you can adjust the volume using the speaker icon in your system tray, or from the Control Panel.
How do I make the practice presentation go faster or slower?
You simply move the slider below the "whiteboard" to the right or left. This causes the display and spoken item to go faster or slower.
What does the Pause button do?
You can click on this during Practice to pause the presentation. The button is then replaced by the Resume (>>) button. When you are ready to continue, click this ">>" button, and the presentation will continue from where you paused it.
How do I enter the answers in a test?
Answers are entered using the on-screen "Calculator Pad". As you click a number it appears on the main display. You click the orange "Backspace" button to erase the last number entered. When you are done, click the green "Enter" button to confirm your answer and have it checked.
What happens when I click the Visit Website button in the program?
This opens your Internet browser, if it's not already open, and takes you to the main page of the TimesTablesTeacher website. The program itself stays paused until you return to it and continue from where you left off.
I need to re-install the program, but forgot the password. What should I do?
You need to contact us with details of your original purchase. Once these have been verified by us, we will send you an email with the required instructions.
